Yemanjá, originally from the ancient Yoruba mythology, is one of the most popular ‘orixás’, the deities from the Afro-Brazilian religion of Candomblé. Every year on February 3rd, hundreds of Yemanjá devotees participate in a colorful celebration in her honor.
